Andrew Garfield’s depiction of Spider-Man seems closer to the Stan Lee/John Romita era of comic books produced with Peter Parker’s character losing the big glasses and social awkwardness. For lack of better words, director Marc Webb’s version of Spider-Man’s character is more “geek-centric” than Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” with Tobey Maguire, which was closer to the nerdy introduction of Peter Parker in the early days of the comic.
