Star Wars fans finally get to see some footage from the anticipated animated series, “Star Wars Rebels”. Two official promos for the upcoming series has been made available, titled “Ignite” and “Spark”. The teasers feature the TIE fighters, the Ghost starship and some new heroes. The lead character named Ezra, is voiced by Taylor Gray (“Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures”) and Freddie Prinze Jr. will voice Kanan Jarrus.
‘Star Wars Rebels’ will premiere as a one-hour special on the Disney Channel this coming fall
“Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which spans about two decades. The animated series is set “in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.”
“When we meet Ezra, he has little interest in becoming a revolutionary. The suave teen has been living on his own on the planet Lothal and is just starting to learn how to use his mysterious new powers. “To survive, instinctively every now and then when he’s in a jam he uses the Force,” exec producer Dave Filoni says in the exclusive preview video below. “He doesn’t call it that. He doesn’t know that’s what he’s doing. He thinks he’s got some abilities that are a little strange every now and then, but they help him out. It’s instinctive, it’s reactionary.”
‘Star Wars Rebels’ will premiere as a one-hour special on the Disney Channel this coming fall in the U.S. The series will go on to debut on the sister channel Disney XD worldwide, airing as a full-fledged TV series.
