Jerry Seinfeld had most of us really confused and excited about a big “secret project” filmed with Jason Alexander. It turns out that the suspicions about a Super Bowl ad for his web series “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee” is correct. The “Seinfeld” reunion has been unveiled during the halftime break of the game between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl XLVIII. Alexander will make an appearance as George Contanza in an episode of Seinfeld’s web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”. The episode features Seinfeld and George heading to Tom’s Restaurant in Manhattan, where they discuss why George wasn’t invited to the Super Bowl party at the Wassersteins.  There were various complains that George is a rowdy supporter and that he “availed himself of the toilet in their master bedroom”, he obviously didn’t take the news lightly. George did however encourage Seinfeld to join the Wassersteins and company, but Newman (Wayne Knight) showed up to spoil the fun.

In a statement released after the segment aired, Seinfeld explains:

“FOX approached (Seinfeld co-creator) Larry (David) and me about doing some kind of Seinfeld reunion for the halftime broadcast because of the New York connection. So we thought throwing Jerry, George and Newman into a Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was a fun way to do it. Larry and I wrote the script in one sitting, just like old times, and working with him, Jason and Wayne was a total blast as it always was.”
