The Marvel movie directed by Edgar Wright will be released a bit earlier than expected. “Ant-Man” slides up two weeks from its initial date of July 31, 2015 to July 17 of the same year. The decision was made, hot on the heels of the announcement that “Man of Steel 2” is rescheduled to be released on May 6, 2016.

Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’ release date has moved from July 31, 2015 to July 17

We have no word on any storyline details but it seems there might be two protagonists. Paul Rudd will take on the role as Scott Lang, we assume he will also be Ant-Man. Michael Douglas joined the cast as the inventor of Ant-Man’s shrinking particles and equipment. “Ant-Man” will duke it out against Warner Bros.’ Peter Pan origin movie titled “Pan (2015)” directed by Joe Wright, which will also be released on the same date.

In addition to “Ant-Man,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015.
