“Anchorman” fans will be pleased to hear that a small-screen adaptation has been ordered by NBC from Will Ferrell. The TV show will be titled “Mission Control”, set in 1962 and in the tone of “Anchorman”. “How to Be a Gentleman” creator/star David Hornsby wrote and executive produces the pilot, which follows a “strong woman butts heads with a macho astronaut during the race to land on the moon.”

2004’s “Anchorman” grossed $90,5 million worldwide on a budget of $26 million. The sequel released last year, “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” took a huge worldwide total of $158,6 million. It makes sense to keep the ball rolling based on the success of the big-screen adaptations. Luckily it’s not just based on numbers, we would love to see an Anchorman-esque Comedy released. Will Ferrell’s creative influence will make this one of the most anticipated comedy shows to follow!
