There is a glimmer of hope for the Harry Potter fans. Rowling is currently set to assist with an upcoming Harry Potter prequel that will be produced for the stage. Rowling will be a co-producer on the show, along with veteran theater producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender. The statement said Rowling will collaborate with a writer but will not write the script herself. If there’s a stage show, then there can be a movie right?
One can hardly believe that it’s been two years since the entire Harry Potter series concluded with ‘Harry Potter and the Deadthly Hallows Part 2’. Daniel Radcliffe was made famous playing the orphaned boy-wonder. Questions regarding the prequel and what it may include are running rife. Harry might not know he’s a wizard yet, but Rowling herself made it clear that the young orphan and outcast did have some “spontaneous magic” events long before he learned of his powers and how to harness them. This new tale will presumably focus on that time period and those moments.
Either way, don’t get too excited just yet, a prequel movie is a possibility, but as for a time… nobody knows.
