Forbes announced the 10 Most Overpaid Actors of 2013. The assessment is based on the stars’ last three projects over the past three years up to June 1 (excluding animated movies).
Let’s have a quick peek at the top 5:
Funny man Adam Sandler sits at the top with an estimated return of only $3.40 for every $1 paid. Even though “Grown Ups 2” did well grossing $246 million against a budget of $80 million, “Jack & Jill” and “That’s My Boy” proved to be the flies in the soup. Sandler is followed by Katherine Heigl in second place with an average $3.50 return for every dollar she was paid. Reese Witherspoon occupies third place delivering $3.90 for each dollar paid. Nic Cage takes fourth places and Sandler’s co-star in “Grown Ups 2” Kevin James joins the list for the first time in fifth place.
No.6-10:
Denzel Washington is in sixth place followed by another newcomer on the list, Steve Carell. The comedian took a major dive with “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” which grossed only $22 million at the box office worldwide. Jennifer Aniston sits at No. 8, with an average $10.60 return for every dollar she was paid. Last year’s “Wanderlust” was her biggest dud, grossing only $22 million. Rounding up the list, Matt Damon and Ryan Reynolds occupy the ninth and tenth places respectively.
