Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are currently developing a new ‘Terminator’ TV Series. The popular franschise created by James Cameron spawned a TV spin-off which aired in 2008-2009. “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” was a big hit among fan boys and sci-fi enthusiasts. Even thought the TV show won numerous awards it was officially cancelled on May 18, 2009 after two seasons. Getting a second season was a surprise, considering it had already lost many viewers since its premiere. Fans of the show had many reasons to feel disappointed that they cancelled TSCC, considering the intelligent and often emotional take on the group of mercenaries to survey the battle against Skynet. Let’s not forget about the hot futuristic teenage robot portrayed by Summer Glau and the awesome action scenes.

As for the new series we don’t have additional details revealing any plotlines, however Deadline reports that the new take on the TV show “will follow a critical moment from the original 1984 ‘Terminator’ movie, taking it in a completely different direction that the film”. Paramount’s upcoming “Terminator 5” will likely be written to intersect with Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures new ‘Terminator’ TV Series. The project will be written and executive produced by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (“X-Men: First Class” and “Thor”).  Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier will also serve as executive producers.
