GeekShizzle reported a while ago that Jason Voorhees will be returning to the big screen as the mass murderer in the “Friday the 13th”remake. Collider.com reports that Paramount announced the official release date for the upcoming horror film which is rumored to be created with “found footage”. Horror fans can expect the masked maniac to storm theaters on March 13, 2015. ‘Friday the 13th’ tells the story of a deformed boy named Jason Voorhees who drowned at Camp Crystal Lake whilst trying to escape a group of bullies. The counselors were supposed to be watching the children but they were busy fornicating in the woods. Voorhees’ body was never found and haunted Camp Crystal Lake ever since.

The first installment was considered a financial success, finishing in 2nd place grossing $91,3 million worldwide in the horror franchise which boasts with 12 big screen releases in total. The highest earner to date is the 2003 released “Freddy vs. Jason” with $114,9 million. The last “Friday the 13th”movie garnered nearly $100 million.
