The 90’s cult classic movie “Ghost” will be getting the small screen treatment. Thewrap.com reports that the movie starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg has inspired Paramount to pursue the possibilities of a TV adaptation. Goldberg won the Oscar for “Ghost” and the movie also took home Best Original Screenplay. “Ghost” was also recently made into a Broadway show. Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman (“A Beautiful Mind”) and veteran showrunner Jeff Pinkner (“Fringe”) is tapped to write the pilot.

Paramount TV president Amy Powell says:

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama,”

This is the first project from Paramount’s newly-launched TV division and we trust more is on the way. No network is currently attached to the “Ghost” pilot.
