It feels like forever since  we’ve received any updates on the “Masters of the Universe” reboot. Comingsoon.net reports that Terry Rossio, the co-writer of “The Lone Ranger” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”, has been hired by Columbia Pictures to pen the script for the upcoming adaptation of the He-Man tale.

“G.I. Joe: Retaliation” helmer John M. Chu was initially onboard to direct the new take on the 1980s cartoon series, however he  is no longer involved in the project. The story revolves around He-Man and his friends who are responsible for defending the realm of Eternia and the secrets of Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor.

The first He-Man film was released in 1987 with Dolph Lundgren as the star.
