The first full trailer of “American Hustle” has arrived. The clip showcases everyone’s game as they hustle to survive. The clip opens with Irving (Christian Bale) who is giving advice to Mayor Carmine (Jeremy Renner).
Irving very confidently says to the Mayor:
“I believe you should treat people the way you wanna be treated. Also, always take a favor over money.”
The clip also features other short snippets of the main cast playing their part.
Irving’s wife, Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) finds life ridiculous saying:
“Life is ridiculous, and you know I I’d never say anything bad about your father in front of you”
The clip ends with Irving sitting with his lover Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) as she anxiously says:
“We got to get over on all these guys, that’s what we need to be thinking about right now”
Inserts in the trailer reads “Some hustle for respect, some hustle for love, others hustle for truth, but they all have one thing in common, that is hustling to survive.”
The story follows a brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld who along with his equally cunning British partner and lover Sydney Prosser is forced to work for a wild unhinged FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting. Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. Like Russell’s previous films, American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.
“American Hustle” is helmed by “Silver Linings Playbook” director David O. Russell. The film supported by Robert De Niro, Louis C.K. and Michael Pena will be released on December 25, 2013.
