Rovio’s wildly-popular game app “Angry Birds” will received the big screen treatment as cited by Comingsoon.net. Rovio has launched a weekly Angry Birds Toons animated series as part of a campaign to pave the way for the hotly-anticipated big screen adaptation. The series was launched in March through its Angry Birds apps, as well as on select video-on-demand channel providers, Smart TVs, connected devices, and on select TV networks around the world. It reportedly surpassed one billion views in its first seven months of release.

The animated movie is planned for a July 1, 2016 release.
