“Scream 5” is on the way as cited by Slashfilm.com. Harvey Weinstein says the franschise has run its course and he wants his brother Bob to make “Scream 5” to wrap up the Ghostface’s killing spree.

He says:

“Everyone lived in ‘Scream 4’,”

The original lead actors, David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox, all returned to reprise their respective roles in the fourth film which, according to Craven, was planned to be the start of a new trilogy.

He added

“I’m begging him to do the movie and just end it. We’ve milked that cow.”

The fifth movie to finalize the very successful slasher film series, will make way for a TV adaption. Wes Craven is attached to the project to helm the pilot for MTV with Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie (“Criminal Minds”) on board to write the script. Craven is very familiar with the killer film franchise, he directed all four films which means we should be in for an excellent series set to be release sometime in 2014.

The fifth installment may have a difficult time at the box office. In comparison to its predecessors, Scream 4 was considered a financial disappointment, grossed $97,2 million worldwide. The fourth installment experienced the second-lowest opening of the Scream franchise taking only $19.3 million on its opening weekend.
