“Rio 2” will feature Jewel’s father (Andy Garcia) for the first time. The first full trailer for the anticipated sequel shows Blu and Jewel meeting her father in the Amazon. Now, the parent of three kids, they decide to leave their domesticated life in Rio de Janeiro in exchange for the Jungle to experience the wildlife. The comfortable city had less challenges as they soon discover things are much more different from what they expected.
The first installment grossed a total of $484,6 million worldwide
Blu and Jewel will be voiced by Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway who are back to reprise their roles. We can expect to see the entire gang back for another fun-filled adventure with Jamie Foxx as Nico the bottlecap-hat yellow canary, George Lopez as Rafael the toco toucan and Tracy Morgan as Luiz the drooling bulldog.
We will also see the return of the villainous duo Nigel the cockatoo and Linda the human girl who adopted Blu. Included in the impressive lineup, rapping cardinal (will.i.am) and a poisonous tree frog (Kristin Chenoweth) will be joining the fun.
“Rio 2” is scheduled to be released on April 11, 2014.
