Brad Pitt spoke to Variety.com at the Toronto Film Festival where he promoted his new film “12 Years a Slave”. Pitt confirms that a follow-up to the post-apocalyptic film “World War-Z” is in development and he will be available to reprise his role as the United Nations agent Gerry Lane.

He says”

“We’re certainly talking about it, yes,”

About the sequel he adds:

“We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how the zombie worlds work.”
“We have so many ideas and so much information – we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from,”
“We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further.”

He continues to express his excitement for the sequel:

“We’ll wait and see how the script turns out but yes, I’d love to come back.”
