“American Horror Story: Coven” features another online promo, titled “Coffin” with a caption that reads “What secrets do we keep that you thought were asleep?” The clip shows a diseased looking woman in a black dress fixing her hair while lying underground.

New “American Horror Story: Coven” promotional picture

“Coven” tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America with over 300 years that have passed since the troubled days of the Salem. Witches and voodoo practitioners will duke it out in New Orleans, which stars Kathy Bates as Marie Delphine LaLaurie (Madame LaLaurie).

The story is loosely based on the real-life Louisiana-born socialite who was known for killing and torturing black slaves in the 1830s. Co-staring is Angela Bassett, who will portray Marie Laveau, a Voodoo priestess “in the 1800s who was very influential in the city.”

“American Horror Story: Coven” is set to premiere on FX, October 9.
