Marvel Studios proudly announced that Bradley Cooper is officially a “Guardians of the Galaxy” cast member. The “A-team” actor will lend his voice to the fearless Rocket Raccoon. Cooper is the latest addition to the already star-studded cast which includes Chris Pratt, who takes the lead with his role as Star-Lord.

Rocket Raccoon acts as the “Guardian of the Keystone Quadrant”, an area of outer space sealed off from the rest of the cosmos by the so-called Galacian Wall.

We are still waiting for Vin Diesel’s confirmation as the voice of Groot, a character best described as a sentient tree-like creature with the ability to rebuild himself and enhance his strength.

Guardians of the Galaxy: A jet pilot gets stranded in space, and must unite a diverse team of aliens to form a squad capable of defeating cosmic threats

The James Gunn-directed film has already started production, he was recently spotted at London’s Millennium Bridge to shoot an action scene featuring colorful alien extras and some Nova Corps.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” will be released August 1, 2014 in the U.S.
