Federico Mauro created these awesome renders of iconic guns in some of the most popular action/sci-fi movies to date. There is something special about these weapons, they resemble the character, the emotion behind it. The memory we have with it. We love the simplistic way in which Federico did this. We have the desire to make large babies and hang them in our man cave!
We listed the Top Sci-Fi guns below, but be sure to check out the rest on Federico’s site.
Here’s our 13 Famous Guns from Sci-Fi Movies:
In our opinion one of the most underrated Sci-fi movies of all time. We loved how this entire gun is made purely from bone! The movie of course is ExistenZ.
The Lawgiver. Classic gun used by the Law himself, Judge Dredd. A Lawgiver can only be operated by its designated Judge owner, whose palm print is programmed into the gun’s memory.
We would have added the Noisy Cricket, but this gun was just as memorable.
Iconic. The ghost-pack that detected and sucked in the super natural. The hopes are still there that we will see the ghost pack again in the Ghostbusters reboot that’s been on and off more than a light switch.
The classic gold-emblazoned pistol He-Man uses.
The Beretta 93R machine pistol. RoboCop fires this weapon in 3-round burst mode. The fictional stats of the weapon claim it has an implausibly huge 50-round magazine.
One of our favourites, the LAPD 2019 blaster used by Rick Deckard.
The flame-thrower was a close competitor when we look at the Alien movies, but nothing beats the M41A Pulse Rifle. After the movie’s premier, the Caterpillar construction equipment company reportedly received inquiries from people interested in buying the power loader that Ripley uses to fight the Alien Queen, who were unaware that it was fictional and doesn’t exist outside of the movie.
Another classic weapon, and one that has been recreated by countless of fans. This is the DL-44 blaster Pistol.
The AMT Hardballer .45 Longslide used in Terminator 1. With laserlock sight.
The classic Star Trek Phaser used in the original series. Set phasers to Stun!!
From the legendary Forbidden Planet. Simply known as the Ray Gun or Blaster. This is a trip back to the original Forbidden Planet series. Classic gun.
District 9 gave quite a few awesome guns, but we felt they deserved to be on here. The AMR-B21 ARC gun, also referred to as a Mulcher, is an extraterrestrial weapon, and as such only works in the hands of a non-human or Wikus. The weapon utilizes highly dangerous protonic current which has a high damage radius and damage capability.
Guns’ not on this list, that we felt could have been added:
1. Fifth Element’s Zorg ZF-1: This baby holds a rocket launcher, poison arrow launcher, machine gun with replay capability, net launcher, flame-thrower and freeze ray. Pretty handy for a light-weight gun wouldn’t you say?
2. Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy’s Point-of-View Gun: The point-of-view gun makes up for its lack of explosive power with pure drama. It packs a punch, but more of an existential one. Once it is fired, anyone in its path will uncontrollably reveal their thoughts to the shooter. According to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the gun was created by the “Intergalactic Consortium of Angry Housewives” in an attempt to control the endings to marital arguments.
We’re sure we missed a few classic Sci-Fi guns, let us know in the comments!

Hellboy’s Good Samaritan
Excellent choice!
Snake’s uzi (at least it looked like one to me) from Escape From New York with the unnecessary, but cool, scope and the silencer.
The Good Samaritan is listed as one of the guns Federico rendered, pretty awesome choice! Check it here: http://www.federicomauro.eu/11918/1638836/works/famous-guns
As for snakes Uzzi.. yup, that came in pretty handy!
Mal’s pistol from Firefly/Serenity it was also in Saints Row IV
Indeed, that was legendary. Talking about Saints Row IV .. what about the Dubbstep gun?
Only used the pistol haha, you have super powers in that game guns are not needed!
And I hate dub step…
Battlestar Galactica blaster from the original series. And don’t forget the laser pistol from Buck Rogers in the 25th century. Last one would be the Logan’s Run pistol. ;-)
BFG
Now there is a gun worth adding to this list!
