We posted an article on June 11, regarding Andrew Garfield’s comment that Peter should explore his sexuality.
GeekShizzle’s comment:
“It would be interesting to see what Stan Lee has to say about the comments.”
It turns out that Andrew Garfield’s idea of a gay Spider-Man has shocked the hero’s co-creator Stan Lee. Andrew Garfield has made headlines after suggesting that Parker should be gay.
At Fandomfest in Louisville, Kentucky, Lee gave his response to the suggestion.
“He’s becoming bisexual? Really? Who have you been talking to?”
Lee went on joking:
“I don’t know … seriously, I don’t know anything about that … I figure one sex is enough for anybody.”
Garfield told Entertainment Weekly magazine that he wanted a new take on the relationship between his character and Mary Jane Watson, saying:
” ‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking! So why can’t he be gay?”
Michael B. Jordan’s name was mentioned as the one he wished court as his onscreen love interest.
Jordan heard of Garfield’s wish and said Andrew is a funny guy:
“No thoughts on that, but I am a fan of Andrew. He’s a funny guy – he’s got a sense of humor,”
“It was fun, I laughed at it.”
Mmmmm…or maybe Andrew really likes Jordan? Who knows?!
