We know we know… This is Blizzard, and unless there’s footage or some kind of evidence released to the public, it’s not real. Yet, it’s difficult not to get excited. At the Legendary/Warner Bros. panel during this years Comic Con fans saw the first ever teaser for the World of Warcraft movie, in which a mighty armoured warrior goes head-to-head with a huge green orc. We are still waiting for this footage to be released to the public. Here is a transcript of the video:
The footage showcased an alien-looking landscape full of rocky outcroppings, where a sweaty unshaven figure in armor is drinking water from a leather pouch. There’s a cage with rocks in it, a squeaking noise, green lightning in the sky. The man tosses the water pouch on the ground, and draws his sword with a loud ringing sound. He takes a shield from an armored skeleton, and bangs his sword against it.
And then you see the massive arm of a… creature… heading towards him. We glimpse the green skin and some of the armor, and then finally we get an extreme closeup of the orc as it raises its axe and brings it down onto the man’s head.
We’ve been screaming for a Warcraft movie for ages now, and it seems like Blizzard is finally doing something about it! Having read the transcript of the video a select group of people saw, we really think it is going to be awesome! Apart from the transcript, we know for sure that it will be a Live-Action/Animated, with real actors interacting with CGI environments and characters.
The film is to be directed by Duncan Jones, who also directed the hit films Moon and Source Code. Reports are that Evil Dead’s Sam Raimi was onboard at one point, but left the project to pursue Oz: The Great and Powerful.
Like just about every fan out there we’re keeping a close eye for when the trailer gets dropped online. The best place to check is Duncan’s twitter account:
So here we are.. waiting in great anticipation for the trailer for one of the most highly anticipated gaming movies ever! As for a release date, casting, etc. We’re still in the dark.
