We have reached June and midyear is upon us. We have 6 months to keep us busy with the existing titles released, leading us in to 2014. There is however a few titles to look forward to. Geekshizzle embarked on the impossible journey to scoop the remainder of the exiting titles still to be released this year. Many games are still pending a release date and hopefully the long awaited titles that have been keeping us up at night will finally see the light of day. Needless to say, we probably missed a couple that deserves to be added to our list, your recommendations will be appreciated.

Ride to Hell: Retribution is promoted as not being for the faint hearted. The game is set in the last years of the roaring 1960’s, a time of Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘N Roll. The biker movement, rock music and the hippie counterculture all add to the fascinating atmosphere and aimed heavily at the player who wants to become fully involved in the original West Coast biker culture, with its hard drinking, bare knuckle environment and some other kind of fun.

Be the four Turtles, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael in the fight to save New York City from mutants, the Foot and Shredder. Deadpool is an upcoming video game based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The game is being developed by High Moon Studios and is due to be published by Activision in 2013. Former Deadpool comic writer Daniel Way will pen the script, and Nolan North, who has voiced Deadpool in other media, will reprise his role.
The premise of the game is rather quirky considering the high profile anti-hero’s reputation. The story is set with Deadpool accepting a mission to assassinate News Reporter Chance White a corrupt media mogul, whose television channel produces such quality programming as “Jump the Shark”, in which celebrities must literally jump over a tank of water containing a ravenous great white shark. The plot also involves Mister Sinister who is scouring a former mutant haven called Genosha for new DNA to use in his armies.

Payday 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter video game in development by Overkill Software. It involves the player and their team performing bank heists and robberies. Gameplay is heavily improved and expanded since its predecessor with a number of new abilities. The game was first announced in February 2013 and later previewed in March of that year, alongside an announcement of the developer’s parent company: Starbreeze Studios’s partnership with 505 Games.
Payday 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original Payday crew – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree. The new CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. This firm run by a cyborg named Bryan Roses, tasks Mondo with killing dangerous criminals and assassins from around the world. Mondo wields a sword with his right hand but his cybernetic left arm can be converted into many different weapons including guns, drills, and other objects. Lost Planet 3 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Capcom. The game will take a more story-driven narrative approach to the campaign similar to the first game. Grand Theft Auto V, is an upcoming open world action-adventure video game being developed by Rockstar North in the United Kingdom and published by Rockstar Games. The game will be the first major title in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto IV (2008), and a continuation of the fictional universe that was introduced in that game. The 15th game in the series overall, GTA V is to be set in fictional Los Santos in the state of San Andreas and its surrounding areas, based on modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California. Renditions of San Andreas were previously featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, released in 2004, and the original Grand Theft Auto, released in 1997.
According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V is destined to be their biggest open world game to date. The game will concentrate on “the pursuit of the almighty dollar”. In a break with recent tradition, GTA V will feature three playable protagonists.
The narrative of the game follows three characters with interconnected stories. Michael is a retired former bank robber in his early forties who lives with his dysfunctional family on the proceeds of his former life in the upper-class suburb of Rockford Hills, based on Beverly Hills. Trevor, his former partner in crime, lives alone in a trailer in the desert of Blaine County, where his reckless and psychopathic behaviours are fuelled by drug addiction. Franklin makes a living in Vespucci Beach—based on Venice Beach—as a repo man for an unscrupulous Armenian car dealership. The three acquaintances are drawn into Los Santos’ criminal underworld “in the pursuit of the almighty American dollar”.According to Dan Houser, each of the protagonists is unlike any primary character that has appeared in a Grand Theft Auto title to date: Michael represents a protagonist who “won” and is now trying to adjust to life after his story has come to an end; Trevor is styled after a supporting character who has been re-cast in the role of protagonist; and Franklin is someone who has had no real exposure to a life of crime until the events of the game, and his attempts to avoid such a life end up thrusting him into the middle of it.

Wasteland 2 is an upcoming post-apocalyptic role-playing video game under development by inXile Entertainment and Obsidian Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It is the first official sequel to the 1988 video game Wasteland (though both Fountain of Dreams and the original Fallout were considered spiritual successors). The game was successfully crowd funded through Kickstarter, part of a trend of high-profile developers launching projects on the site.
The game is set in an alternate history timeline, in which a nuclear holocaust took place in 1998 in relation to an impact event involving a cluster of meteors that sparked a global nuclear war. On the day of the cataclysm, a company of U.S. Army Engineers were in the desolate southwestern desert constructing bridges in an area with a number of small survivalist communities and a newly-constructed federal death row prison with light industrial facilities. The soldiers sought shelter in the prison, expelled the inmates and invited nearby survivalists to join them shortly thereafter. Years later, together they formed “the Desert Rangers, in the great tradition of the Texas and Arizona Rangers”, to help other survivors in the desert and beyond it.

The storyline of Watch Dogs game is built around the concept of information warfare, data being interconnected and the world’s increasing use of technology—questioning who exactly runs the computers they depend on. The game is set in an alternate reality version of Chicago, Illinois, which is one of many cities to feature a supercomputer known as a “CtOS” (Central Operating System).
The system controls almost every piece of technology in the city, and contains information on all of the city’s residents and activities which can be used for various purposes. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is an upcoming console action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. It is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 November 2013 in Japan and February 2014 in North America and Europe. It is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series and will serve as a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII-2, concluding the story arc that began in Final Fantasy XIII. The concept for the game design is “world driven”, meaning that the world will always be moving and have events happening in various locations at certain times of day, regardless of if the player is in the same location within the world to witness the event or not. Motomu Toriyama, the director, has promised that the game will be “the most complete and polished in the Final Fantasy series”.
Lightning will be the only playable character with Hope Estheim giving guidance and advice to her over cellphone. The game will involve her battle to save the world from destruction, set against the awakening of the ancient god Bhunivelze. Players will also have the ability to customize her costume. According to Yuji Abe, the game design director, Lightning will have well over 20 costumes for the player to customize in the game.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, part of the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series, announced on the cover of the December 2011 issue of Game Informer. Styling themselves as a populist militia group, the True Patriots have taken it upon themselves to act as judge, jury and executioner on behalf of the victims of Wall Street corruption. To complicate the situation, the new leader of Rainbow Six is James Wolfe, a former Navy Seal who believes ethics is irrelevant in dealing with the True Patriots. As Echo Leader, a man who looks up to Wolfe as a father figure, they must stop the True Patriots at all costs; even at the price of their own personal morality.

• The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.
• We won’t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title.
• This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It’s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.
• We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more re-activity to player choices, and more customization. AtPAX East, we talked about armor and followers… Yeah, that kind of customization. We’ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.
Dragon Age III will be set in Thedas, and it has been heavily implied that the game will be set primarily in Orlais. The game will cover more geographic territory than its predecessors, with one map being described as four to five times the size of Ferelden, the setting of the first game in the series.
BioWare mentioned that the main plot will be “saving the world from itself.” The plot will involve an all out war between mages and templars, the foundations of which comprise the main plot of Dragon Age II. Along with the larger size of the game map, the player will be able to travel to countries such as Tevinter to calm or encourage the fighting

Each decision the player makes as Bigby has consequences. He already has a tenuous relationship with Snow White, and the story fleshes that out. If he chooses to assist (or not) one person, it may also have an effect on how another person might react to him.

Company of Heroes 2 will run on Relic Entertainment’s proprietary Essence 3.0 game engine, which THQ claims will allow the developer to bring “new technological advancements” to the game. In January 2013, Sega acquired Relic Entertainment and along with it the Company of Heroes intellectual property from THQ.

Planetary Annihilation is an upcoming real-time strategy computer game in development by Uber Entertainment. It is being developed by much of the team responsible for Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander. Planetary Annihilation is planned to feature a planet-based map system, including multiple star systems, different types of planets and asteroids. Players will be able to conquer other planets and even entire systems on maps said to include “hundreds of worlds”. These planets are also planned to be dynamic in that they can be ‘annihilated’ using asteroids, a major focus for Uber Entertainment. The game’s creators have also stated that Planetary Annihilation will resemble something of the 1997 RTS Total Annihilation as its focus is more towards ‘macro’ game-play as opposed to ‘micro’ game-play. In development updates, Mavor has commented that “a million” in-game units is a design goal of the development team. It has also been hinted that Planetary Annihilation will feature a commander-focused system, in which the player loses when their commander dies.

The Last Guardian, known in Japan as Hitokui no Ōwashi Trico and previously referred to by the working title Project Trico, is an upcoming video game developed by Team Ico, to be published exclusively for the PlayStation 3 video game console by Sony Computer Entertainment.
The title is being designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, and is expected to share stylistic, thematic, and gameplay elements with his previous titles, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, though it is unknown whether it will be directly related to either. In May 2009, a purported proof of concept trailer became publicly available online, weeks before an updated version was formally revealed at E3 2009. The Last Guardian was originally given a late 2011 release date internationally at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show, but was pushed back to 2012 on April 20, 2011. Further complications, including Ueda’s departure as a full-time employee of Sony (though remaining as a consultant on the project) have left the release date in question.
The game centers on a young boy, who must navigate a complex environment of ruins with the aid of Trico, a giant griffin-like creature. On occasion, he must also deal with several fully-armored guards, be it sneaking by them or dealing with them directly. He can climb up and hang onto the creature; much like Wander could a colossus. In addition to its speed, the creature is capable of swimming and climbing up walls.

Set approximately thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, the once-warring Vektan ISA and Helghast have entered into an uneasy coexistence on planet Vekta.
The Helghast people on Vekta are survivors of the devastation of Helghan during the Second Extrasolar War, their home world being irrevocably damaged when the maniacal Jorhan Stahl attempted to use an advanced Helghast space flagship stocked with irradiated petrusite missiles to wipe out Earth’s population. Stahl’s flagship was instead intercepted and destroyed by ISA-commandeered strike fighters mere moments before it could head to Earth, with its lethal petrusite payload detonating over Helghan instead, due to massive secondary explosions.
Some time after the conflict, the Vektan ISA then offered the Helghast survivors refuge on lush Vekta, away from hazardously irradiated Helghan. Sonic Lost World is an upcoming action-adventure platforming video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games. It is being developed by Sonic Team and will be released by Sega for Nintendo’s Wii U and Nintendo 3DS platforms.
Sonic is chasing after his longtime foe, Eggman, and encounters a mysterious floating island known as “Lost Hex,” where he’ll run across the Deadly Six. The Deadly Six were united under Eggman for his own needs until they betrayed him. Sonic and Eggman team up together to stop their misdeeds.

Bayonetta 2: Wii U

Bayonetta 2 is an upcoming action hack and slash video game developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Wii U, with Sega as the franchise owners serving as its advisor. It is the sequel to the 2009 game, Bayonetta, and is being directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba, under supervision by series creator Hideki Kamiya. It was announced on September 13, 2012, and will be exclusive to the Wii U, unlike the previous game which was available on multiple platforms.
Little is know about Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U so far, but developer Platinum Games have said they are excited to work on the new platform. This will be their second Wii U game, the first being The Wonderful 101. While Bayonetta 2 is produced by Atsushi Inaba, series creator Hideki Kamiya is still involved in the project.
