Tom Hardy, Bane from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, is rumored to Play Sir Elton John, English rock singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and occasional actor, in ‘Rocketman’. Rocket Pictures has not handed an official offer yet, however Tom Hardy will likely be the front-runner for the coveted role.

The upcoming film is directed by Michael Gracey with the script by “Billy Elliot” scribe Lee Hall. Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish come aboard to serve as producers with Elton to executive produce the film.

The “Bennie and the Jets” singer has previously made known, that Justin Timberlake was the preferred actor to be the “Sir John” depicter in the biographical musical fantasy. The “suit and tie” R&B star did not however finalize any deals with Rocket Pictures.
