In The Witcher Season 3, we will continue on our journey with The Witcher Family: Henry Cavill as the wily, silent Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as the courageous Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as the legendary beauty and witch-sorcerer Yennefer of Vengerberg. The cast will, of course, include the returning Geralt (lead actor Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allan), and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). In addition to returning characters, a number of new ones are joining the cast in the forthcoming Season 3.

We got a look at who is who on the cast, a recap of everything we know about the story thus far (but rest assured, you will not find any book spoilers here), and quotes from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hersrich — even a refresher on the potential fourth season. Alongside the recently released synopsis from Netflix on The Witcher Season 3, Schmidt Hissrich has already confirmed several elements that are going to be a part of Season 3.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich has confirmed that the third season of The Witcher will be an adaptation of the book, Time of Contempt, which is the second book of Sapkowskis fantasy series. As in season 1, the third season of Netflixs epic fantasy The Witcher series will adapt one of the books major events, while adding a few new storylines and character upgrades added by the show. The impending season three will loosely follow The Witchers second long-form novel, The Time of Contempt, with some continuing plotlines from the first, and apparently a couple ideas from the third, making this even more of a one-off take on the story compared to Season 2s Blood of Elves. We already knew Season 1 was adapted from a handful of short stories set prior to The Witcher novels, and Season 2 is based on Blood of Elves, the first book of The Witcher saga.

Following up on their production announcement, The Witcher‘s Twitter account also shared an intriguing insight into season three’s plot.  They told followers, “We’re also excited to reveal the official plot summary for the upcoming season…,” alongside an image featuring a full synopsis for the series.
