The stylized posters feature Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, and Mia Wasikowska. The big Legendary Pictures panel taking place in Hall H at this week’s Comic-Con is one not to be missed! Crimson Peak is going to be a big part of it, and I can’t wait to see even more of what del Toro has in store for audiences!
When talking about the film to EW, del Toro says:
“The house is a rotting representation of the family that has inhabited it — it’s like a cage, a killing jar that you use to kill butterflies. The house basically is a sinister, sinister trap.
“[Usually] the marriage is sort of the climax or the high point of a story. I tried on Crimson to say that the horror starts after the marriage. This girl wakes up in a strange place, not her own home, not her own bed, and she little by little realizes that she knows less about the man she married than one would expect. The curious thing is the love story really starts when they acknowledge that darkness.”
Here’s the synopsis:
When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.
The movie hits theaters on October 16th, and you can checkout the posters and the latest trailer for the film below. Crimson Peak Character Posters and New Trailer:
