Tense First Teaser Trailer for Heroes Reborn

NBC released a new teaser trailer for Heroes Reborn, and it’s depressing as hell. The promo video came with the tagline, “In a desperate future, the world awaits its heroes.”

The brief spot features the phrase, “Where are the heroes?” plastered across a variety of desolate landscapes. Then there’s the score, which features a haunting cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” being sung by a children’s choir. A seemingly ordinary group of people who gradually become aware that they have special abilities. The story develops showing their reactions to these powers, and how this discovery affects their personal and professional lives.

The 13-episode miniseries is a continuation of the 2006 NBC series, and it’s set to be released on September 24th. Returning cast members include Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Jack Coleman as H.R.G., Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder Suresh.

Heroes creator Tim Kring wrote and executive produced the new series, which also features the following new cast members: Zachary Levi (Chuck), Ryan Guzman (The Boy Next Door), Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time), Danika Yarosh (Shameless), Judith Shekoni (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Kiki Sukezane (Death Yankee 3), Henry Zebrowski (A to Z), and Gatlin Green (Criminal Minds).
