Casting news for Marvel’s much talked about “Deadpool” movie is coming in hot and fast over the last two weeks. Justjared.com reports that Homeland actress Morena Baccarin has secured the female lead role in die upcoming comic book movie. She managed to oust Taylor Schilling, Crystal Reed, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Sarah Greene, and Jessica De Gouw for the coveted role as the woman who “grapples with falling for a man with a hideously scarred face.”

Ryan Reynolds will return as the masked mercenary in the Tim Miller directed pic from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Simon Kinberg is producing with Lauren Shuler Donner, with Fox planning a March start in Vancouver. The hotly anticipated comic book movie is slated for an early 2016 release.

The 35-year-old actress currently starring as Dr. Leslie Thompkins on FOX’s crime series “Gotham” will be joining Gina Carano who is set to play Angel Dust, a mutant whose ability allows her to elevate her adrenaline levels to provide her with super strength.
