Rob Riggle’s Frank West can be seen taking Zombies apart in the official first trailer for “Dead Rising: Watchtower”. It looks gloriously cheesy in that B-Movie sort of way but it still seems worth the watch. The horror movie is an adaptation of Capcom’s balls-to-the-wall zombie mashing video game series which allows players to create all sorts of crazy zombie killing tools from ordinary items. 2006’s “Dead Rising” was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 video game console.

For those of you not in the know, the game centers on Frank West, a photojournalist who ends up trapped in a shopping mall in the fictional town of Willamette, Colorado, that is infested with zombies. Frank must defend himself from zombie attacks, rescue survivors, contend with crazed psychopaths, and stay alive while still attempting to uncover the truth behind the incident. Two sequels, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3 were developed and released in September 2010 and November 22, 2013, respectively.
Riggle is joined by solid actors which include the likes of Jesse Metcalfe, Dennis Haysbert and Virginia Masden. Expect the Zombie bashing movie to hit Sony’s Crackle streaming service on March 27.
“DEAD RISING: WATCHTOWER” takes place during a large-scale zombie outbreak. When a mandatory government vaccine fails to stop the infection from spreading, the four leads must evade infection while also pursuing the root of the epidemic, with all signs pointing to a government conspiracy. Politics, public paranoia, and media coverage play an important role in the story’s narrative. “The Dead Rising” game franchise has sold over 7.6 MM copies worldwide. Publisher Capcom has sold over 100 MM game copies worldwide, including juggernauts “Resident Evil,” “Street Fighter” and “Mega Man.”
