Rumor has it since last week that Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad” lost its biggest star, Tom Hardy.  The British actor was expected to take on the role as Rick Flag, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Hardy is forced to exit the comic book film due to scheduling conflicts. The buff star is currently shooting Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s “The Revenant” which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio. Multiple reports claim that the movie may not have finished when “Suicide Squad” goes into production in April.

Latino Review is of the opinion that Hardy made a swift exit for a list of other reasons. According to the site he “simply didn’t like the script he was finally given, he didn’t like the drastic change to the character.” They also claim that the most recent draft of the script features more of Deadshot and The Joker, which may have pushed Hardy to quit the project. Anyway, he is out and now rumors are circling Jake Gyllenhaal as the new replacement to portray Rick Flag.

Hardy would have joined Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Boomerang) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). The movie centers a group of DC supervillains who are sent on a suicide mission by the government to redeem their past. “Suicide Squad” will be directed by David Ayer with an expected release date set for August 5, 2016.
