We’ve heard countless rumors that “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Avengers” are set to appear onscreen in a possible crossover adventure. “Guardians” director James Gunn finally set the record straight to address the questions from the masses about the two super teams rumored to appear on the silver screen for the first time. The friendly folks over at Screen Junkies talked about the topic during a new interview with the helmer, he said:

“We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don’t think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this, because we have our own galaxy to take care of. We have our own galaxy to save,” “Earth is the Avengers’ province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it’s going to happen.”

In the meantime, The “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be released on May 1, 2015. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as The Cap, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. James Spader plays Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen takes on Wanda Maximoff a.k.a Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Pietro Maximoff a.k.a Quicksilver, and Paul Bettany becomes Vision.
