Syfy is officially teaming up with “Man of Steel” writer David S. Goyer to develop a Superman origin story called “Krypton“. According to the official series description, “years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.” The show is set to take place “years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized.”

DC is taking a full swing at small screen productions over the next couple of years. There is a full slate of tasty comic book productions coming our way. Krypton joins CBS “Supergirl”, Fox’s “Gotham”, the CW’s “Arrow” and “The Flash”, and “Constantine” on NBC. We are not entirely sure how the origin series will relate to previous prequel shows and the existing big screen ventures, but we will be following DC’s progress with great interest.
