Software application writer Virgil Griffith decided to take on the task of identifying the dumbest people based on their musical tastes. It doesn’t really matter how scientific the study was conducted because it is so damn entertaining. Basically, Griffith began to track musical tastes based on the average SAT scores of several colleges throughout the country, and made some pretty obvious discoveries along the way. Griffith’s chart, aptly titled Musicthatmakesyoudumb, states that the smartest people listen to Beethoven, Surfjan Stevens and Counting Crows, and that fans of Lil Wayne, Soca and Beyonce are falling short in the brains departments. Gospel, Jazz, Pop and Alternative music also featured extremely low on the chart.
