It is with great pleasure that I share the news that Vinnie Jones has been officially cast as Danny Brickwell in CW’s “Arrow“. Jones is one of my favorite British actors and he is also fondly remembered by football fans for his very entertaining moments as a professional soccer player back in the day. Jones will be seen as the villainous character in episodes 10, 11 and 12 of the current third season.

This is a huge season for “Arrow” with CW securing a plethora of Hollywood heavyweights to star in the show. So far we have the privilege of seeing Matt Nable as Ra’s al Ghul, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom, J.R. Ramirez as Ted “Wildcat” Grant, Nick Tarabay as Captain Boomerang, Amy Gumenick as Cupid, and David Cubitt as Mark “Manhunter” Shaw.

Tune in for the next episode of “Arrow” this evening at 8 P.M. on The CW.

For those if you not in the know, here is a good description for Danny Brickwell courtesy of dc.wikia.com:

“Brick is a metahuman super-villain and crimelord in Star City, making him an enemy to Green Arrow. His skin is thick and brick-like, making him almost impervious to damage. Beginning his career as a low-level enforcer, his ruthlessness allowed him to rise through the ranks. Brick was created by Judd Winick and Phil Hester, first appearing in Green Arrow (Volume 3) #40. (2004) “
