Constantin Film is in the process of developing a “Resident Evil” TV series. Fans of the franchise have expressed their lack of interest to see another big screen movie made, but is this perhaps the answer to ending the future of the big screen adaptations? While no release date has been confirmed, the TV series is expected to make its way to the small screen once the next feature film, “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, has run its course. No further details have been available.

Constantin executive board chairman Martin Moszkowicz said in a statement:

“Constantin has a lot of feature film brands and we are moving them into television. For instance, we own the rights to the book series ‘The Mortal Instruments,’ and we just hired a showrunner in Los Angeles, and our offices in Los Angeles and Canada are starting production next year on at least two or three international shows,”

“The Mortal Instruments” is another movie heading to small screen, but hopefully we can expect a reboot instead of a story arch that pays homage to the big screen failure. In the meantime we can expect  director Paul W.S. Anderson to return for the upcoming Final Chapter of “Resident Evil” with his wife Milla Jovovich reprising her role as Alice. Production for the horror flick is set on hold due to Jovovich’s announcement earlier this year that she is expecting a child.
