Interview-with-the-Vampire

Comingsoon.net reports that Universal just acquired the rights to all of Anne Rice’s ‘Vampire Chronicles’ books. This includes ‘The Interview with the Vampire’, ‘Queen of the Damned’, ‘The Vampire Lestat’, and ‘The Vampire Armand’. Anne Rice must have received a very hefty cheque  for all of her works, remember how difficult she was on-set during the Interview with the Vampire movie?

Thus it is only natural to expect a reboot in the works. We’ve already seen Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas in ‘The Interview with the Vampire’ 1994 release, as well as Queen of the Damned in 2002 with Aaliyah playing the eponymous bloodsucker and Stuart Townsend playing the vampire Lestat.

Personally we’re always felt Anne Rice’s depiction of vampires is the way it is supposed to be. Vampires don’t glitter in the sun, they don’t drink fake blood, and they don’t open themselves to the public.

Anne Rice is still busy adding to her Vampire Chronicles books though, The next literary chapter in “The Vampire Chronicles,” “Prince Lestat,” hits bookstores this fall.
