The dawn of the Superhero females are upon us geeks and it’s about time! We have been begging to see a female superhero flick for years now and it seems that more than one female-centric superhero flick will heading our way. The most recent development involves Sony’s intentions by hiring Lisa Joy to pen a script for a female-driven superhero film, that is set to take place in Spidey’s universe. Spider-Man has a few females to choose from but it seems the Hollywood rumor machine has already shifted gears with some interesting names coming to the forefront.

Let’s have a quick look at the rumored names mentioned for the female-led superhero movie

Gal Gadot is already signed on for Three Movies as the Amazonian warrior, starting with Zack Snyders “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” set to be released on April 28, 2016. Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow also joins the list as a possible project to see her take on baddies in a solo movie. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” female scribe Nicole Perlman also revealed recently that the studio will have a go at its first female-centric film. It might be Black Widow, but rumors earlier this year also suggest that “we will see an iteration of Captain Marvel onscreen by 2016 – either at the end of Phase Two or the beginning of Phase Three.”

Exciting stuff geeks, only good can come from this! Who would you like to see as a female lead in a superhero flick?
