Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam  was unable to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con to promote the final season. Series creator Kurt Sutter said that the star of the show is absent because he’s “doing important service for Vogue magazine”. Hunnam was indeed absence on Sunday because he was busy with a Vogue magazine photo shoot. The 34-year-old actor didn’t leave Sutter and the guys high and dry without any assistance. He arranged for a special message to be aired for all “Sons of Anarchy” fans at the Con last weekend to explain his no-show.

The clip featured some of the “Sons Of Anarchy” co-stars pampering Hunnam while he delivers his message. Lying uncomfortably naked in front of Mark Boone Jr. (Bobby Munson), Tommy Flanagan (“Chibs”) and Kim Coates (Tig Trager), Hunnam says in a very relaxed tone:

“Hello lovely people of Comic-Con. I’m recording this message because unfortunately I can’t be with you this year. I hate to miss Comic-Con on the final season of the show, but for the future and safety of America, my presence is required elsewhere.”

Flanagan treats him to a manicure, while Boone gives him a massage. Coates also joins in as Hunnam’s servant, bringing Hunnam refreshments and fanning him down. Hunnam picks on them throughout the clip, complaining about the level of service and poorly prepared refreshments.

At the San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Sutter and some of the cast members of the show discussed the much-anticipated final season and possibilities of an Origins Series.

“SOA” fans can tune in to check out the first episode of the seventh and final season on Tuesday, September 9, at 10 P.M. ET/PT on FX.
