We finally get to see some footage for the hotly anticipated “12 Monkeys” series set in the post-apocalyptic future, courtesy of IGN. The first official trailer doesn’t seem to capture the undertones of the original offbeat cult classic movie of the same name, but there is still enough material in the 2 minute trailer to capture the chaos and urgency of stopping a deadly virus. The show features “Nikita’s” Aaron Stanford and Noah Bean, and we also get to see Zeljko Ivanek back in action. Remember him?  He was the corrupt agent with the Department of Homeland Security in “Heroes”.  The premise of the story is more or less the same as the first 12 Monkeys director by Terry Gilliam in 1995. Stanford’s Cole is sent back in time to stop a plague that wipes out the human race. When he arrives in present day, he looks for Dr. Railly (Amanda Schull) who initially sent him back on his mission.  He needs to locate Leland Frost (Zeljko Ivanek), and stop the events that lead to the outbreak of the deadly virus.

The 13-episode series is set for a 2015 premiere.
