Weird Al Yankovic is back in action and taking the mickey out of Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ with his new ‘Tacky’ Music Video. The musician-parodist can be seen sporting a ridiculous multi-colored outfit while making fun of all sorts of modern-day pop culture activities. He takes on the “tacky” issues that are usually frowned upon for example: Instagramming each meal, tweeting while at a funeral and selfies with deceased people. The ever popular YOLO acronym also gets the short end with the artist talking about owning a YOLO license plate. That would be extremely tacky!

The tacky centric music video was shot at the Palace Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. The clip features a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Jack Black, Margaret Cho, Aisha Tyler, Kristen Schaal and Eric Stonestreet. Yankovic is in the process of launching his new album, “Mandatory Fun”. Fans can expect no less than eight music videos to be released over the next eight days. “Tacky” serves as the first one in the string of eight videos, GeekShizzle can wait to see the rest!

Yankovic recently told NPR:

“I think that digital distribution is more the way for me to go: putting out a single at a time, possibly two or three tracks or an EP. I don’t know that putting out 12 songs at once in this day and age is the best way for me to get my music out there, because if I’m waiting that long, chances are a lot of the material is going to be somewhat dated by the time it comes out.”

“Mandatory Fun” is currently available in stores. The record features Weird Al’s parodies of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”, Lorde’s “Royals” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” among others
