AMC is already building hype for its upcoming fifth season of the wildly popular post-apocalyptic horror series, “The Walking Dead“. Executive producer Robert Kirkman says that season five will “hit the ground running” and “that we definitely start this season in an up cycle.” Fans of the show can check some newly-released featurettes, giving viewers a glimpse at behind the scenes footage. We get to see the cast and crew on the first day of filming, which includes feedback from Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun.

GeekShizzle is counting down the days till next season drops, the stars of the show had the following to say about the upcoming season:

  • Andrew Lincoln says the season opener is the “most ambitious first episode” they’ve ever attempted. “It’s gonna be messy, it’s gonna be brutal. It’s gonna be thrilling.”

  • Norman Reedus gushes, “It’s one of those scripts that every couple of pages you’re just like, ‘Oh my God,’ and you have to put it down for a second and you have to just think about it,”

  •  Steven Yeun calls it “a great welcome to the season.”

Anyone excited yet?!! For those of you who live in under a rock or for some reason managed to miss one of the best series to air in TV history, AMC announced the “Dead, White & Blue” weekend! The network plans to air the first four seasons of the show starting Friday, July 4 at 9 A.M.
