We just saw the pilot episode of the new Flash series starring Grant Gustin, and we are glad to announce that we are impressed!

The new Flash series is a spin-off from the CW Arrow series. While Arrow took an entire season to get rolling, and even longer before he actually started wearing a mask, we felt that Flash hit the ground running. Grant Gustin makes a great Flash, and we had similar feeling to back when we watched the first spider man with Tobey Maguire for the first time.

We won’t give away too much here, but sadly we still hold that Flash runs the same risk that Arrow did, and that is that they entire show runs the risk of boring its fans with the “freak of the week” villain while holding out for other superhero cameos to boost the rankings. We’ve spoken about this with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yet The Flash was very enjoyable, and we feel CW learned a lot with the Arrow, and has dealt with the slow paced issues and is giving us a fun, entertaining and cool intro to the life of the early and young Flash. He uses his powers/speed a lot and that is without a doubt the most satisfying part of the Flash. Thank you CW! That is what we want to see! We don’t want to see a depressed Superhero sulking around carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

We felt the villain of the episode could have been done better. Let’s wait and see what comes on the following episodes. We also enjoyed all the easter eggs in the episode. Knowing a lot about The Flash we know who and what the characters will become that we see that interacts with The Flash. His lab assistants, certain friends and enemies. And dare we say… Green Lantern!

The preview of the last episode of Arrow gave us a nice intro to the Flash series, and also see the official Flash trailer below:
