It’s been close to over a year since Dwayne Johnson landed the starring role in New Line’s earthquake disaster flick, “San Andreas”. The project is also adding some finesse with the announcement that Aussie pop sensation Kylie Minogue has officially joined the cast ensemble. The 46-years-old actress/singer was last seen on big-screen in 2012’s “Jack & Diane” and “Holy Motors”. She is mostly remembered by the geek community for her portrayal as Cammy in 1994’s “Street Fighter”.

The pic is helmed by Brad Peyton, who previously worked with Johnson in “Journey 2: The Mysterious” Island. The script was originally written by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore, with Chad and Carey Hayes hired to pen the rewrite. San Andreas follows the devastation after a California earthquake and sees a man (Johnson) embarking on a dangerous trip to rescue his estranged daughter.
Johnson and Minogue is joined by Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Colton Haynes, and Ioan Gruffudd. “San Andreas” is set to hit theatres on June 5, 2015
