Fox has just picked up movie rights for their next Marvel superhero movie! Mark Millar’s “Superior” will be receiving the big-screen treatment according to recent reports. The comic book series was published between 2010 – 2012 by Marvel under its Icon imprint. Millar’s frequent collaborator Matthew Vaughn, who directed the big-screen adaptation of “Kick-Ass” is expected to step in as producer for the upcoming pic. Vaughn’s “The Secret Service”, based on Miller’s creation is due October 24.

I am "Superior"!

I am “Superior”!

‘Superior’ comic book synopsis:

“Simon Pooni had it all going for him – plenty of friends at school and good looks, and his coach called him one of the most talented basketball players he’s ever seen. But that was when he could still move his legs. Now, he’s living with multiple sclerosis, missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into the world of movies and comics with his best friend. Then…SUPERIOR entered his life.“

“Superior” will be a very interesting watch depending on the direction Vaughn is willing to take. Pooni’s transformation to become a Superman-like hero comes with a hefty price. The boy with multiple sclerosis is granted one wish by an “alien monkey” who turns out to be a demon from Hell. Selling his soul to the devil granted him superior human qualities.

Matt Reilly will oversee the movie for the studio, no writers have been hired yet.
