For those of you not in the know, Sony owns the “Spider-Man” movie rights and Fox owns “X-Men”. As far as the explanation is concerned, the featured post credit clip is part of a settlement involving the movie’s helmer, Marc Webb. Negotiations for Web to return for “Amazing Spider-Man 2” was stalled after 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”, due to his commitments with Fox to helm 2009’s “500 Days of Summer”. Ok, so Webb was finally “released” to helm “The Amazing Spider-Man” sequel, with the agreement that Sony would promote “X-Men”. Business politics, comic book movies and free adverts, rumor debunked!

Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ is set to hit theatres on May 2, 2014 in the U.S. Spidey’s journey will see him take on a plethora of bad guys with Electro (Jamie Foxx), Goblin (Dane DeHaan), and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) pitted against him.

Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will follow a few weeks later on May 23. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are back as the young Professor X and Magneto with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen portraying their older versions respectively. Jennifer Lawrence returns as Mystique, Halle Berry as Storm, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
