It feels like forever and a day since we received any updates for the ‘Prometheus’ Sequel that was promised to be released in 2015. “Prometheus” was set as a loose prequel for Scott’s 1979 sci-fi “Alien”. Even though the film grossed more than $400 million worldwide, fans embraced the “prequel” with mixed reviews and in need of answers! We may be in luck geeks, it seems the sequel is finally happening. There have been more than a couple reports suggesting that the “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” is in fact a sequel to “Prometheus”. When 20th Century Fox announced a plethora of new releases last week, buried among the superhero infested list was Scott’s Project dated for March 2016.

Speculations led many to believe it may be the much talked about Blade Runner sequel that will make the headlines as the possible “Untitled Project”, but no, the film will be in development under Alcon/Warner Brothers and not at Fox, so that is a sure miss. The guys over at thewrap.com says that multiple sources informed them that the “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” that 20th Century Fox announced is “Prometheus 2”. Moreover, the studio has also hired a new writer with Scott eyeing a fall production start-date for the sequel.

“Green Lantern” writer Michael Green will pen “Prometheus 2”, which is promising to be “more “alien-y” and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise.” Green whose credits also include “Smallville” and “Heroes” is expected to polish the original draft previously penned by Jack Paglen (“Transcendence”). The film will also feature multiple “David” androids according to multiple reports, with more than one Michael Fassbender on-screen at the same time.

Ridley Scott will return as a producer but it’s unclear if he will take seat behind the lens.  Fassbender will be joined by Noomi Rapace to reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw. Production is set to start this fall after Scott is done with “Exodus”.
