The third official trailer for Godzilla is online. The clip features new footage of Bryan Cranston’s Joseph “Joe” Brody, lead scientist of a team dispatched by M.U.T.O. to investigate the phenomenon.

Cranston says while standing in a destroyed New York City:

“They’re lying. I’m not crazy. Whatever it is they’re guarding so carefully, I need to be able to prove that it’s real.”

The rest of the trailer features most of the footage from the previous trailers, but we also get see some extra glimpses of the enormous beast.

Cranston is supported by Aaron Johnson who portrays his on-screen son Ford, and Elizabeth Olsen is Ford’s wife. They are also joined by Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins and David Strathairn. The Gareth Edwards directed monster flick is set to be released on May 16.

The original Japanese version of “Godzilla” will be storming into U.S. theaters to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Rialto Pictures has announced that it will release a new restoration of the 1954 version in all its splendour. The cult classic monster movie will debut April 12 at the fifth TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood. The vintage film will then be released nationally beginning at New York’s Film Forum which runs from April 18-24.
