The amazing ans suspenseful Hannibal and Jack face-off in the opening scene

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Hannibal is simply one of the best crime dramas and shows currently on TV.  If you are not convinced then have a look at our 5 reason why you should watch this show.

It was a long wait after the suspenseful season 1 ending, and boy how was the opening scene? That is one helluva way to capture your audience for the rest of the season. Seeing Hannibal and Jack face-off in one extreme to the death fight felt like a spoiler, but seeing as this was shown in the season 2 trailer, and all the promo videos we can only assume NBC wanted to throw this in our faces from the get go. We loved it!

Hannibal is truly beautifully shot (by director and executive producer David Slade) and is an amazing look at how darkness, overwhelming darkness to be precise haunts an FBI profiler named Will Graham. Season 1 ended with Hannibal perfecting, like all of his gourmet meals his framing of Will Graham for all those brutal murders. Perfecting up to the point where even Will himself cant remember what happened.

The answer lies within Will

The answer lies within Will

Hannibal Season 2 picks up with Will in custody, and while being in a much better mental condition than we last saw him, he is on a mission to retrieve his lost memories being positive that the answer to finding proof against Hannibal in in his memories somewhere.

We love how this show does not seem to be in a rush at all. It takes all the time it needs to show Hannibal prepare his meal with artistic close-up shots of mean being sliced and wine being poured. Even reliving Will’s chaotic visions/memories over and over again simply drags you into this show being mesmerized and shocked at the same time.

We also have to ask how on earth NBC is getting away with the amount of Gore and graphically disturbing images being shown? Even Dexter was nothing compared to this…

Hannibal-Episode coffin

Presiding over this chaos is the titular Prince of Darkness, psychiatrist and cannibal gourmand extraordinaire Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). We can’t wait to see how this show will unravel, but as for a first episode… bravo NBC! Bravo!
