CW’s “The Flash” is heating up by expanding its cast line-up. “Arrow” fans will already be familiar with Barry Allen (a.k.a the Flash) who was introduced in an episode last December. Additional members of the cast have already been announced for the DC comic based series. While no longer a full-blown spin-off, “The Flash” will continue to branch off the “Arrow” universe story arch since Barry Allen featured in the series. ‘The Flash’ was originally set to be filmed as a backdoor pilot, but CW has opted to film a traditional stand-alone pilot instead. “Arrow” co-creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and series scribe Geoff Johns will pen the pilot. “Arrow” helmer David Nutter will serve as director on the “Arrow” spin-off.
