There is a very saucy rumor making the rounds on the internet that the Fantastic Four and X-Men will be seen together on the silver screen for the first time! The crossover movie might see two groups of superheroes duke it out according to a recent report by The Motley Fool (via Bleeding Cool). The film will reportedly be based on a 1987 Fantastic Four issue comic called “Fantastic Four vs. X-Men”. It is unclear at this stage if the storyline will follow the “The Fantastic Four” reboot due on June 19, 2015. It makes sense to let the two groups fight it out after the new take on the “The Fantastic Four” has been re-introduced which is set to have a brand new cast. We have to assume that if the movie is a go, the crossover mash up will take place after the events of “X-Men: Apocalypse” due in 2016.

Bring it on Marvel!

Bring it on Marvel!

According to The Fool:

“the movie will see the characters against each other because of secrets regarding the Fantastic Four’s origin.”

This is the perfect time to consider another movie to assemble a big group of superheroes. Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” due in 2015 will be the second big superhero mash up movie in the franchise, with an eye on spawning a couple more sequels. Sony recently announced that the Sinister Six villains will gather for a spin-off movie. DC’s “Man of Steel 2” will see the Caped Crusader and Superman appear on the silver screen together for the first time (also due in 2015). Guillermo del Toro have plans to potentially join the DC Universe at Warner Bros. with an adaptation of “Justice League Dark”, it all depends on whether the film fits into the studios’ overall plans. “Suicide Squad” has been mentioned as one of the “mid-range” DC movies  to be developed for the big screen.
