The official trailer for “Godzilla” has been release on the internet. The clip features the city in ruins with people frantically running to escape, in other scenes we can see how the giant beast destroys a train.
We also get to see some of the scenes that were leaked last month which takes a look at what seems like a special task force being deployed to take on the enormous monster. They fall from the sky like shooting starts, giving us a first person view from one of the soldiers taking part in the HALO jump.
The military team is preparing to jump out a plain while the mayor (David Strathairn) provides the voiceover addressing the troops:
“Gentlemen, you are being sent in by a HALO jump.”
“Now I realize not all of you have had hands on experience and frankly, none of us have ever faced a situation quite like this before. But I would not be asking any one of you to take this leap…if I did not have complete faith in your ability to succeed,” he continues his speech. “Your courage will never be more needed than it is today.”
We also get a better look at the distorted clips from the teasers released yesterday, which shows a team of researchers or maybe scientists discovering something in a tunnel. Last but not least, we get a quick glimpse of Godzilla at the end of the trailer.
“Godzilla”is helmed by Gareth Edwards, set to be released on May 16, 2014. Aaron Johnson portrays Ford, a Military Soldier responsible for tracking down and attempting to kill the beast. Elizabeth Olsen takes on the role as Ford’s wife and “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston will be the scientist. They are also supported by Ken Watanabe (“Inception”), Juliette Binoche (“The English”), Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), with David Strathairn (“The Bourne Legacy”).
